About the event
In 2014, a handful of volunteers and advocates founded the Pinatubo Eco Adventure and Cultural Enclave – Katutubong Anak ng Mount Pinatubo (PEACE KAMP) after immersing with the Aytas of Sapang Uwak, Porac, Pampanga. Led by a retired Army officer, these young advocates who came from different backgrounds volunteered to organize the members of the tribe in order to preserve their cultural heritage and provide opportunities to alleviate their economic plight.
Today, PEACE KAMP is an S.E.C. registered non-stock, non-profit organization which has organized the Aytas into Sapang Uwak Marketing Cooperative, duly accredited by the Cooperatives Development Authority. It has integrated two sectoral organizations, the Ayta Kalamu Ka Women’s Organization and the Jungle Survival 101 for the tribesmen.
To enhance our efforts and attract more partnerships that would increase awareness on our goals and endeavors, PEACE KAMP will be formally launched.
